Euro 2008 Betting Preview
25/06/08 (19:45) - Germany vs Turkey
Tonight’s game will be a fascinating encounter albeit that the Turks only have a glimmer of hope of winning as The quartet of Volkan Demirel, Tuncay Şanlı, Arda Turan and Emre Aşιk are suspended while striker Nihat Kahveci followed Emre Güngör in departing the tournament injured after the quarter-final shoot-out triumph against Croatia.
Midfielder Tümer Metin may be fit for involvement but Servet Çetin and Emre Belözoğlu are still struggling which could leave just 13 outfield players available for action. In contrast the German team is looking as strong as it has done for years and with Ballack in fine form leading up to the game I can only really see one winner, and that’s the Germans.
Don’t get my wrong, I am a fan of the under dog but I believe this game will be one too far for the Turks who have been a real revelation during this tournament and have shown real heart and determination to get this far.

26/06/08 (19:45) - Russia vs Spain
This game will be intriguing as both teams have played each other before in this tournament and the outcome was a 4-1 drubbing of the Russians by Spain who were on fire that night. This time around the Russian have their star player available in Andrei Arshavin who has lit up the tournament since coming back from suspension and has given the Russian team a new lease of life with his attacking flair and creativity.
Spain on the other hand come into this game after a disappointing quarter final draw to Italy which they eventually won on penalties. Its not so much the draw that might affect them it’s the way they were playing which is hugely different when in comparison to the time the teams last met in the group opener when spain were rampant.
I can see the Russians nicking it in the last moments of the game as Russia have shown they are capable of taking to the wire and still producing when they need to which is what Spain failed to do against Italy as they played for penalties in the end.
