Euro 2008 - Group D
Review
Group D will be quite an exciting group as it includes only one team that really has a chance of lifting the trophy this summer in Spain but they are perpetual under achievers so you never know what you are going to get with them. The other three teams will probably end up battling it out for the second qualifying places and in my view they are all basically even in terms of players so who knows how this one will end up.
Spain have a few match winners in Torres, Iniesta and Villa. This time they'll be hoping its their year.
Sweden only really have one world class player in their ranks and that is Ibrahimovic and he is one of those players that doesn’t perform unless he is in the mood so Sweden will be praying he is up for this tournament.
Russia best asset is their manager Guus Hiddink who is a master tactician which could prove vital during this group stage.
Greece even though they won it last time around are an ageing side that I can see doing a lot but I bet everyone thought that four years ago so this is the reason this group will be so interesting as it will be very open right down till the last game.
